Janurary 7, 2009: Jerry Jeff Walker
Although primarily associated with the outlaw country scene of early ‘70s Austin, TX, songwriter and guitarist Jerry Jeff Walker was born in New York before proudly making Texas his home. Best known for writing “Mr. Bojangles,” Walker’s biggest-selling album to date is 1973’s gold Viva Terlingua, recorded in the Texas town of Luckenbach with the Lost Gonzo Band. Over the years, Walker has gathered his friends down in the laid-back scene of Belize in late January for a set of special shows, and this year is no different. Hear the “semi-retired” Jerry Jeff Walker live in Studio 1A.
