January 29, 2009: Mudphonic

January 29, 2009 3:57 pm by: Jay Trachtenberg

Led by tenor saxophonist, harmonica player and vocalist Topaz McGarrigle, Mudphonic captures the swampy funk of the southern jams that inspire them as a band. Recorded in a barn on the banks of the Colorado River, their latest Music for Dorothy is soaked in original, head-bobbing anthems of the dirty south.
