When not on the road and performing with her musical companion as the Indigo Girls, songwriter, guitarist, bandleader and all-around political activist Amy Ray leads her own band. Last year’s Didn’t it Feel Kinder features gritty vocals, fuzzed out guitars and subtle backup vocals from Brandi Carlile, while Ray pushes her politics with songs that even flirt with punk rock.
