Downtown Water Main Breaks

Repairs to a broken 24-inch water main at W. 6th St. and N. Lamar Blvd. snarl traffic.

The Austin Water Utility had crews working to repair the broken main on January 9.

City officials say it will take several hours to repair the break and restore the busy intersection to normal. Drivers are encouraged to find routes that will avoid the area during the afternoon and early evening hours.
