Debating How to Get More Kids on CHIP
The U.S. Congress is considering expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program this week.
The expansion would increase the number of families eligible for the program. If it is expanded, it would still take a vote of the Texas Legislature to match the federal eligibility requirements. And there’s already a battle brewing in Austin over whether increasing the eligibility here is needed to get more kids covered.
