Austin Midwife Training in the Middle East

After weeks of fighting between Israel and the militant group Hamas, there is relative peace again in the region. Among the humanitarian aid workers, is a midwife from Austin.

Sera Bonds has been living in Beersheba, in Southern Israel, for two years. She trains Israeli and Palestinian women as midwifes, and in turn, these women provide prenatal care and deliver babies throughout Israel and the West Bank. Bonds says her work is different from that of typical humanitarian aid organizations.
