A. C. Newman: “There May Be Ten or Twelve”

December 17, 2008 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

Canadian singer/songwriter Carl (A.C.) Newman cites Brian Wilson and Burt Bacharach as major influences. And though he’d probably be the first to admit that he’s not quite as prolific as those pop music giants, Newman is the chief songwriter for Canadian supergroup The New Pornographers and he’s about to release his second full length solo album on January 20th.

This tune, called “There May Be Ten or Twelve,” showcases Newman’s seemingly innate melodic sensibility, with at least a little of his sense of humor thrown in there for good measure.
