If there was such a thing as a “Texas original”, it would have to be Doug Sahm: a son of San Antonio who many still feel embodies the spirit of Austin music. Had he lived, Doug Sahm would have been celebrating a birthday Nov. 6th. And no doubt much of the city would have been celebrating along with him. For KUT’s Texas Music Matters Peter Babb explains.
