Plants and Animals: “Feedback in the Field”
Montreal-based three-piece, Plants and Animals have been called the ‘distant Canadian cousin’ to Portland’s Blitzen Trapper. They piece together Southern, roots-rock and highly orchestrated folk music (much in the vain of fellow Montrealers Arcade Fire).
Part of the band’s latest album, Parc Avenue, was recorded in lead singer and songwriter Warren Spicer‘s apartment, and when the band came to Austin and recorded some tunes in KUT’s Studio 1A, the homemade feel of Plants and Animals‘ recent work was evident.
This tune, called “Feedback in the Field,” sports an Andrew Bird-like whistle intro, which leads the ear along a winding course of great indie-folk.
