Fun³ Fest ‘08 – Bishop Allen: “Click Click Click Click”
What is it about ruined, discarded pianos that make for great songwriting?
For Brooklyn-based Bishop Allen, a warn out piano was just what chief songwriters Justin Rice and Christian Rudder needed to get the band out of its rut. With the help of the new sound, in 2006, Bishop Allen recorded and released an EP every month of the year.
Late into the EP project, the band signed with Austin-based record label, Dead Oceans (an offshoot of Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar), and released their sophomore LP, The Broken String.
This tune, called “Click Click Click Click,” is vintage Bishop Allen: fun, poppy and melodically complex.
Bishop Allen will be in town this weekend for the Fun Fun Fun Festival. They’ll hit the Main stage on Saturday at 3:20pm.
