White Ghost Shivers Annual Halloween Ball Tonight

Come one, come all, to the Hallow’een Ball

Such ghoulish great times to be had by all!

Those White Ghost Shivers are at it again. Their annual Halloween Ball is turning 5 this year, and it’s bigger and better than ever before. However, this talented group of musicians and singers has actually been playing together for 7 years plus.

They specialize in string band music from the 1920′s and 30′s. Early jazz, hokum, vaudeville, ragtime, western swing, and hillbilly are on the menu, but they deliver it all with a punk/rock attitude. Little wonder they refer to themselves as the “Motley Crue of string bands.” Bang your head and make devil horns – but make it ol’ timey while your at it, and throw the Charleston in there somewhere.

This year, the WGS celebration takes place at the Waterford House, 2008 Brandt Rd., out around Slaughter and Hwy I-35. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. What a party it will be!

-A revival of sorts by the McMercy Family Band

-Spooky groovy tunes on the turntables provided by DJ Suepurrr

-Slapstick comedy to die for by Shave and Reilly

-Tricks, treats and treasues brought to you by the Bric-A-Brac Vintage Vagabond Variety Show

-Of course, a grand performance by the delightfully horrific White Ghost Shivers

Ain’t it a sight to see those high brow creeps at night?? Visit the Shivers Ball website for details, a map with directions, and ticket info.

And if you’re not afraid…well…

You should be.
