Originally from Hollywood, songwriter Tahni Handal was already rockin’ by the time she was 17, as lead guitarist for the all-female heavy metal band Tantrum. She was also studying at the Guitar Institute of Technology, interested in expanding her tastes and musical style.

Years later, after the birth of her daughter and making some important life decisions, she set out for Austin and made it her new home. She wrote and recorded her first album, Back Again, and thrived creatively in her new surroundings. She found a new voice in R&B and soul, but has always kept the spirit of her rock ‘n’ roll roots.

Now Handal’s completed her third CD, To Kiss You, which has its official release today. She has a CD release show scheduled tonight at Stubb’s indoor stage, 801 Red River. Opening the show is songwriter Harry Bodine.
