Railroad Earth Plays Tonight at Antone’s

October 28, 2008 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Americana and acoustic roots masters Railroad Earth did something special this year that was a long time coming. They were able to record their fourth album, Amen Corner, at the home of Railroad’s singer-songwriter Todd Sheaffer – a lovely 300-year old farmhouse tucked away in the rural New Jersey countryside. It was paradise. It also undoubtedly contributed to the spontaneity and rich, organic sound captured on the album. But the real essence comes from six great musicians simply having fun together.

You can see them perform this evening at Antone’s, 213 W. 5th, along with Austin bluegrass quartet Green Mountain Grass. Doors open at 8 p.m.
