Pompeii Has CD Release Show Tonight at La Zona Rosa

Things changed for Austin band Pompeii when Eyeball Records owner Alex Saavedra saw the band perform at a day party showcase at South by Southwest 2005. He drew up a contract for them on the spot. Just less than a year later, Assembly got the attention of critics and fans alike. After that, the band toured throughout the U.S. and got a spot at the CMJ Festival in New York.

There have been some changes in the band line-up, but fans can look forward to another great album in Nothing Happens For A Reason. There is a signature Pompeii sound – strings, the dramatic ebb and flow, and heartfelt lyrics, but it’s evolved toward a more wide-eyed and ambitious direction.

Hear the latest music from Pompeii tonight at their CD release show at La Zona Rosa, at 612 W. 4th St. Opening bands on the bill are Austin’s Quiet Company and The Soldier Thread.
