Joel Harrison: “Travel On”

Joel Harrison is perhaps best known for his critically acclaimed blending of classical music and jazz. And when he got down into KUT’s Studio 1A with host Jay Trachtenberg, he told us that he was very much a descendant of the “big three” jazz guitarists (Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell and John Scofield) – but informed us that he could still play every note on The Allman Brothers album Live at the Filmore East.

And on his latest album, you might say Harrison channels Duayne Allman, especially on songs like this one. Live from KUT, it’s a tune called “Travel On.”
