What Laura Says Performs Tonight at Stubb’s Indoor Venue
Once upon a time, but not so very long ago – just a few years, maybe – Danny Godbold and James Mulhern weaved together a collection of captivating melodies and harmonies for their two-man project, What Laura Says Thinks and Feels. It was such an overabundance of good ideas that they decided to add a full rhythm section and other assorted goodies to really fill their sound out. Drummer Greg Muller, bassist Mitch Freedom, and Jacob Woolsey jumped on board, and they shortened the band name to What Laura Says.
Their self-titled 2007 album continues to get rave reviews, as do their live performances. Speaking of which, What Laura Says has a killer show lined up this evening at Stubb’s indoor venue, 801 Red River St. Opening the show is Jesse Podunk’s super-sonic-psych rock adventure Sweet Lee Morrow. It’s all oh-so-delicious. Doors open at 9 p.m.
