Song of the Day

Silver Jews: “Strange Victory, Strange Defeat”

September 12, 2008 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

The vocals of David Berman, lead singer and songwriter for the Silver Jews, kind of sound like a really lazy, tone-deaf Bill Callahan. But, at the same time, there’s something infectious about the cadence.

This is a tune from the Silver Jews’ new album. It’s a song called “Strange Victory, Strange Defeat.”

You can find it on the band’s new release, Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea, which you can pick up at your local record store right now.
