Matt Keating Plays Tonight at The Scoot Inn

September 9, 2008 12:05 pm by: Laurie Gallardo

Over the span of his career, Matt Keating released three albums on the Alias Records label: Tell it to Yourself (1993), Scaryarea (1995) and Killjoy (1997). His style weaved between rock and power pop, but there was much more beneath the surface inspiring the songwriter. It was time for pause to regroup.

Keating reemerged with his 2008 album, Quixotic, a double CD collection of 23 songs that play more like an LP, before vinyl was old school. The unreservedly romantic tone shows his more vulnerable side this time around, with a deeper introspection and an ability to laugh at himself and the world around him.

You can see Keating perform tonight at the Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St., at Navasota. Chris Masterson (Son Volt) will get things started after 9 p.m.
