Hacienda Plays Tonight at The Mohawk

September 10, 2008 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

The buzz continues to grow around quartet Hacienda, and rightly so. This is solid, booty-shakin’ pop rock with harmonies that just won’t quit.

The San Antonio band is preparing to release their highly anticipated debut album, Loud Is the Night. Things began to roll the moment a six-track Hacienda demo found it’s way to the ears of Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. He was diggin’ what he heard, and invited the gents to open for his band. Soon, a sort of musical correspondence began between Auerbach and Hacienda, with the guys regularly sending Auerbach demos to warm up for a recording session at his studio in Akron, Ohio.

Hacienda recorded the entire album live, with some help from their pals from Dr. Dog, to really capture the vibe of their performance, complete with those great vocal harmonies and an abundance of rock and soul.

Catch Hacienda at their show tonight at The Mohawk, 912 Red River. Dans la Lune and Bearclaw will open the show.
