Arts Eclectic: Tales of the Really White Vigilante

Austin artist Michael Schliefke takes a break from painting to create a comic book series.

Painter (and longtime East Austin resident) Michael Schliefke has been working in a different medium lately – his latest works aren’t paintings, but comic books. He’s just published the second installment of Tales of the Really White Vigilante, a superhero comic that takes a look at the gentrification of East Austin and the influx of money and hipsterism into that historic part of town.
The first two volumes of Tales of the Really White Vigilante are available at Austin Boooks .

There will also be an official release party for volume two on Wednesday night.
