What a strange trip its been for Roky Erickson. When his band, the 13th Floor Elevators exploded on the scene in the ’60′s, they appeared on American Bandstand and turned rock upside down. But then the whole affair took a tragic turn. Here’s a profile of the godfather of psychedelic rock –who’s staged a major comeback at ACL. Roky Erickson performs Saturday at 7:45pm on the Austin Ventures stage.
