Yndi Halda Performs Tonight at The Mohawk

If you’ve been doing your Wikipedia homework, you may have discovered that Yndi Halda means “enjoy eternal bliss.” That’s also the name of UK band Yndi Halda’s 2007 debut CD. The young musicians began writing for this album at the age of 17, and completed the album by the time they turned 20.

Their instrumentals are truly epic, combining classical composition with modern ambience and movement that could be found on a film soundtrack. Woven into the fabric are violins, clarinets, banjos, glockenspiels, guitar and bass, punctuated by military-style percussion.

Yndi Halda’s summer tour includes a stop in Austin tonight for a show at The Mohawk, 912 Red River. Opening the show are Austin’s own instrumental masters My Education – an amazing double bill.
