Clay McClinton Performs Friday Night at The Saxon Pub

August 28, 2008 9:39 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Clay McClinton grew up in Fort Worth, where he learned to play guitar and harmonica from dad Delbert McClinton and Clay’s older brother. As soon as he graduated high school, his thoughts of making a musical career were already fleshing out. He moved to Austin, where he began writing music, had a couple of stints in Flagstaff, AZ and Nashville, and even took a trip to Europe to play at hostels and see the world.

Cut to the present: McClinton has two albums to his credit, his debut Out of the Blue and 2007′s Son of A Gun, but for him, the musical adventure is only beginning. He continues to write, perform, and produce his and other artists’ albums. In his own words, “I just don’t think you can learn enough.”

McClinton has a show this Friday night at The Saxon Pub, 1320 S. Lamar. Singer songwriter Carolyn Wonderland starts the night out right at 9 p.m., followed by McClinton at 11 p.m.
