Californian Mario Matteoli co-led Austin’s The Weary Boys before working on his self-released solo album Hard Luck Hittin, with a formula of one-part Hank Williams and two-parts Bob Dylan. Recently engaged, this year’s Golden State shows the more romantic side from a less angst-ridden Matteoli. Listen to Mario Matteoli and his band live on Eklektikos with John Aielli.
