Austin’s Michael Ramos played the role of sideman in a number of previous musical endeavors. But it wasn’t until his rediscovery of the accordion, a sound he was familiar with from his parents’ cumbia record collection, when Ramos took over as band leader for his own project. Charanga Cakewalk effortlessly fuses Tejano and cumbia with contemporary electro-pop and Latin lounge. Listen to Ramos and the band perform live from Studio 1A on Horizontes with Michael Crockett.
