Wisconsin-born and Austin-based Barbara Kooyman made an early move to San Antonio where she began writing songs at the age of 11. In the late 80s, her band Timbuk 3 was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Artist category. As founder of the pro-artist/pro-public radio and grass roots organization Artists for Media Diversity, Barbara K performs and records her spiritual and beautiful tales on new label Sparrows Wheel with her band Ghosts and Sparrows.
