Scottish Folk Artist Brian McNeill Plays the Cactus Cafe Tonight
I learned about folk artist Brian McNeill from Ed Miller, whom you know as one of our Folkways hosts at KUT. After Ed gave me the lowdown on this very talented artist, my main question was this: “What on earth does McNeill not do??”
Ed, a rather talented artist himself, tells me that McNeill is “a writer of some of the best contemporary Scots songs in the folk idiom, multi-instrumentalist, and general rabble rouser. He’s a veritable titan of Scottish folk music.” Consider me floored!
Join McNeill, Ed Miller, and guitarist Rich Brotherton for an evening of fine Scottish song, fiddling and plenty of hearty rabble rousing tonight at the Cactus Café. This will surely be a night to remember.
