War Against Sleep Plays Tonight at The Mohawk
Some delightful and absolutely useless trivia: That bastion of financial news,
The Wall Street Journal, came up with a list of impressive band names found at South By South-West 2008. Austin’s own The War Against Sleep was one of those listees, although it wasn’t clear whether it was because of any possible reference to the philosophy of Gurdjieff, or that it just sounded like a cool name. Oh well.
But philosophical theories aside, The War Against Sleep weaves a mixture of rock and psychedelia intertwined with electronica. You can see them at their show tonight on the indoor stage at The Mohawk on Red River. Ideal Soul Mart will get the evening started.
