The Cave Singers Play Thursday Night at The Mohawk

It might’ve made sense for Seattle band The Cave Singers to go toward a more indie or post-punk route. After all, that was the history of the band members. No one said anything like, “Man, we should make this a folk band.” Yet vocalist Pete Quirk, percussionist Mark Lund, and guitarist Derek Fudesco found themselves moving in a different direction. They may not have intentionally chosen folk, but it was a natural evolution that turned out very nicely.

The Cave Singers will headline tomorrow night at The Mohawk on Red River. Also on the bill are two Athens bands: Multi-member/multi-instrumental psychedelic meltdown Dark Meat, and indefinable figuratively-galloping indie troubadors Quiet Hooves. All in all, Thursday at the Mohawk promises to be an intriguing evening. Check it.
