Stax, Wax & Live Tracks Party Tomorrow at the Victory Grill
Tomorrow night, the Memphis sound takes over one of Austin’s last authentic juke joints! It’s the Stax, Wax and Live Trax show, happening Friday night at the historic Victory Grill, located at 1104 E. 11th St. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. In tribute to the much loved Stax record label, KUT’s very own Rick McNulty will spin lots of vintage funk and soul to get you off your behind and on the dance floor. Just imagine hearing all your favorites, straight from the vinyl: Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, The Staple Singers, Booker T and the MG’s, and more!
The evening includes a fantastic live R&B and soul revue by Austin band T-Bird and The Breaks, and dance moves that’ll fit the night right by RubyRico Productions.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the Stax Music Academy in Memphis.
