Northern State Is In the House Wednesday Night at Stubb’s

Here’s the story in a nutshell: Spero, Hesta Prynn, and Sprout grew up together in Long Island. They wound up in New York City after college. Listening to all that hip hop on Hesta Prynn’s computer got them inspired. They thought, “Why not start a rap group?” So they did.

They’re known as Northern State, and they like to kick it old school independent style, meshing hip hop with electro-rock and funky beats. They got the jams goin’ at Stubb’s indoor stage tomorrow night. Opening the show is Indie-rock five-piece American Princes from Little Rock, Arkansas.
