Artist Profile: Girl in a Coma
Austin often hogs the limelight in Texas, but this trio of young women from San Antonio is putting the spotlight on our neighbor to the west. Girl in a Coma is Jenn Alva, Phanie Diaz, and Nina Diaz. Nina was only 12 years old when she approached the older girls with a song she had written. She quickly became the groups lead vocalist and songwriter. Their big break came when the legendary Joan Jett signed them to her Blackheart Records in 2006. The girls will be touring this summer with a stop at the Vans Warped Tour.
