The Reivers Live – February 7, 2008

February 7, 2008 3:00 pm by: Jay Trachtenberg

In the mid 80s, Austin’s The Reivers lead the genre dubbed “New Sincerity,” releasing two albums on Capitol Records and gaining legions of adoring fans across the nation. Although, the music was more ‘new wave’ than ‘punk rock’, it stood on its own as well-crafted, pure and simply irresistible pop music. The band officially broke up in 1991 and went their creative, separate ways. Since, leader John Croslin has mixed and engineered recordings from Guided by Voices, Spoon, Pavement and his own solo work. They’re back for a set of “one-time-only” reunion shows. Listen to The Reivers live on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
