Nellie McKay Live From Studio 1A – October 31, 2007

October 31, 2007 3:00 am by: Jay Trachtenberg

The sheer brilliance of London-born and New York-based Nellie McKay can’t be categorized. With dark-humor and sardonic wit, she takes turns at pop, cabaret, vaudeville, jazz and everything in-between. Edgy and biting lyrics keep her out of the romantic pop label while each release becomes more difficult to decode. Her latest “Obligatory Villagers features heavy jazz hitters Phil Woods, Dave Liebman and Bob Dorough. Listen to Nellie McKay share her vision and perform solo live from Studio 1A on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
