St. Idiot Collective likes to emphasize the “collective” part of their name. Their shows are always collaborative efforts, with the roles of actors, writers, and directors blurring together in the creative process. Their new show, Rainbow Family of the Serendipitous Now or the Orpheus Project, is no exception. Inspired by such diverse sources as the Orpheus myth, the story of the Manson family, the film “Yellow Submarine,” and old Scooby Doo cartoons, the collective has created a show as only they can. Despite its cartoon roots, Rainbow Family is not for kids.
