Austin-based Kevin Carroll has held his spot as guitarist for Charlie Robison over nine years running. His new release, Tourmaline blends the best of his pop songwriting and Petty-like approach to rock-n-roll with a dazzling selection of accompanying musicians, including Ian McLagan and drummer Barry “Frosty” Smith. Kevin Carroll was live with Jay Trachtenberg Tuesday, July 10.
