Kelly Willis Live on Austin Music Unlimited

July 20, 2007 3:19 pm by: David Brown

Singer and songwriter Kelly Willis moved to Austin in the mid-’80s after graduating high school, and since then she’s made the city her home. She’s worked and recorded with Nanci Griffith, producer Don Was, Jay Farrar, Vince Gill and Chris Thile among other fellow country/alt-country artists. Kelly’s seventh and latest work, Translated from Love, is a slight departure into more rockin’ territory, produced by Chuck Prophet and featuring husband Bruce Robison, with an Iggy Pop cover to boot. Hear Kelly Willis live on Austin Music Unlimited with host David Brown Friday at 12:30 p.m. before her CD release show at Stubb’s on Saturday night.
