Backpack Picnic is an Austin-based sketch comedy troupe that follows in the tradition of Monty Python, Kids in the Hall, and Mr. Show. They specialize in short filmed sketches, which can be viewed at OnNetworks.com or downloaded via itunes. They’ll be uploading a new sketch every week, and you can catch them live at the Out of Bounds Improv festival over Labor Day weekend. The troupe includes Mitch Baker and Dave Bewley (formerly of the Edmond Bulldogs) along with Austin comedy stalwarts Shannon McCormick and Jeremy Lamb. Rene Pinell directs the short films.
