Austin’s Paul Klemperer, otherwise known as PK Sax, draws on 35 years of playing experience and has been tearing up the local jazz scene since touring and performing with Marcia Ball over the last decade. His new project Manteca Beat is a nod to the R&B of King Curtis and the jazz of Eddie Harris, and the world-weary soul sound shines through on the latest “Manteca-Licious.” Hear Manteca Beat live on Music with Jay Trachtenberg Tuesday at noon before their Friday night show at Joseph’s.
