Jimmy LaFave Live @ Noon on Monday
Jimmy LaFave’s self-described ‘red dirt music’ is a product of his Oklahoma upbringing, although the singer/songwriter was actually born up the road near Dallas. His move to Austin nearly twenty years ago led to an opportunity to work with producer Bob Johnston, known for his work on a couple of LaFave’s favorite Dylan albums, followed by numerous local music awards. His new release “Cimarron Manifesto” features Carrie Rodriguez and Ruthie Foster among other Texas musical fixtures. Hear Jimmy LaFave and his band live on Music with Jay Trachtenberg before his in-store at Waterloo Records on Tuesday and show at Shady Grove on Thursday.
