Elana James Live From Folkways

May 5, 2007 2:58 pm by: Larry Monroe

Elana James and Whit Smith founded western swing revivalists Hot Club of Cowtown over a decade ago in NY after the two met through an ad in the Village Voice. The group moved to Austin in 1998 and released their first record. After disbanding, James toured with Bob Dylan and began taking what she learned from the road and applying it to songwriting and recording. Hear Elana James and the Continental Two Saturday live in Studio 1A on the Further Adventures of Folkways with host Larry Monroe before the trio’s show at the Continental Club to celebrate the release of James’ debut, self-titled CD.
