Robert F. Schenkkan’s 90th Birthday Celebration
KUT Radio and KLRU Television co-hosted a celebration for the founder ofboth stations, Bob Schenkkan. Mr. Schenkkan worked long and effectivelyfor the enactment of the Public Broadcasting Act in 1967, wasinstrumental in creating PBS and NPR, and helped save public televisionin its darkest hour. Mr. Schenkkan is a visionary pioneer for publicbroadcasting nationally, and has several professional accomplishmentsincluding playwright, Naval officer, university professor, andinternational consultant.
