Texan singer/songwriter Ruthie Foster’s career in blues, gospel, and R&B has been on the rise since her initial release in 1997. She’s come a long way since with her latest, Papa Mali-produced The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, a recording inspired by a Maya Angelou poem and already being heralded as her best yet. Ruthie Foster brought her special sound to Music with Jay Trachtenberg on Thursday, February 15.
