January 26, 2007 1:36 pm by: Jay Trachtenberg

Peter Case, formerly of L.A. power pop group The Plimsouls, has been releasing his own albums since 1986. In spring of 2001, he compiled a tribute to hero Mississippi John Hurt called Avalon Blues, featuring contributions from Lucinda Williams, Dave Alvin, and Steve Earle. It was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Traditional Folk category. Peter Case played live on January 24 on Music with Jay Trachtenberg before his appearance at the Continental Club with Dwight Twilley as part of a fundraiser for bassist Ron Flynt.
