The Gourds

The Gourds of Austin, TX embraced alt-country rock before it was a household term. Needless to say, their honky-tonkin’, porch-jammin’ sound helped invent the genre. But their aesthetic swings beyond description with feet planted firmly in the Lone Star State. The Gourds challenged the conventions of country and pop live in Studio 1A Wednesday at noon on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
