Trumpeter, percussionist and composer Pete Rodriguez studied at the renowned Escuela Libre de Musica in Puerto Rico before he was a teenager. He’s performed with numerous legends of Salsa, jazz and Latin jazz including Eddie Palmieri, Bebo Valdez, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. Pete also had the honor of singing songs made famous by his late father, Salsa pioneer Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez, at Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. He’s now working toward his Doctorate in Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in jazz at UT Austin.
