Los Utreros
Jarocho was a derogatory term used by the Spanish, which referred to people born of African and indigenous parents. The term has since been adopted as a declaration of honor and dignity. Anastasio Utrera Luna and Claudia Cao Romero are from renowned son jarocho band Los Utrera. The four-piece group performed live in Studio 1A Friday afternoon.
