Voted “Best New Band of the Year” at the 2006 Austin Music Awards, locals The Texas Sapphires don’t really need good reviews considering they’ve already received the ‘gold seal of approval’ from Lloyd Maines, who lends his musicianship and production skills to the group’s alt-country debut Valley So Steep. The Texas Sapphires performed live in Studio 1A Wednesday at noon on Eklektikos.
