My Education
Referring to Austin’s My Education simply as space-rock fails in doing the combo justice. The musicians that comprise the local ensemble are some of the most adventurous instrumental composers around. Blissful, melodic sheets of notes rise to cacophonous mind-melds for a trip through the musical unknown. Maybe that’s why Rolling Stone’s David Fricke described their sound as “advanced ecstasy.” My Education performed live at noon in Studio 1A.
