Sonya Kitchell
16-year old Sonya Kitchell’s debut album Words Come Back to Me is set for release next month. The recording seamlessly melds elements of jazz, R&B, folk and other roots. Although she’s just a teenager from rural Massachusetts, her music is ageless and timeless. Music became her vocation and passion after September 11, 2001. Struggling to cope with the enormity of that day’s tragedy, Kitchell jotted down some therapeutic writing. Then a melody formed in her head and a song was born.
